We had a great time last night, for our parent shopping/date night, and from the reactions we got from our kid's parents, so did they! We had a family style spaghetti dinner, made chocolate chip cookies, watched a movie; complete with popcorn, played games, listened and sang along to a Christmas flute performance, and enjoyed doing a little art work. We love you all, hope you have a wonderful Christmas full of friends and family, and are thankful that you have chosen to be a part of the Playcare family!
Today, the entire Playcare staff enjoyed spending time with our kids and families for an early Thanksgiving feast. We always enjoy good food and great company! We will miss all of our VPK students next week, but hope you enjoy the break from school and the time with your families. Thank you all for joining us, and for being a part of the Playcare family. Have a safe and happy Thanksgiving!
We were finally able to deliver our thank you projects to the Citrus County Sheriff's Office and Inverness Fire Department! We want to say thank you once again to the amazing Deputies and Firemen that took the time to introduce our children to two of the most important community helper in our neighborhood. Everyone at Playcare hopes you visit us again soon!
Sensory play, activities that simulate a child senses, encourages exploration and the scientific method while they play, create, and investigate. This type of stimulation helps our children develop cognitively, linguistically, socially, emotionally, and physically. Our preschool class loves playing in the sensory center!
What could be better than a lesson about bats to help us celebrate Halloween, and who better to help us learn about bats than our biologist friend, Miss Colleen, from the Florida Forest Service. We learned a lot about bats, some bats live in trees, some bats live in caves, there are twelve species of bats in Florida, never touch a bat, but most importantly, bats are good, because they eat lots and lots of bugs, not scary. Thank you so much Miss Colleen for taking the time to teach us about bats, and for helping us with our art project!
Parent involvement is critical to a child's early learning experience, and has always been a part of our curriculum. We also have parents who have expressed interest in meeting the families of their child's classmates in order to be able to set up playdates outside of school. So of course, we decided to combine the two ideas, and the first "Playcare Playdate" was born. It was a great morning, splashing at the Puddle In The Pines, and I think it is safe to say that the first "Playcare Playdate" was a huge success! We want to thank all our Playcare families and friends for coming out to splash in the water and have lunch with us. It was great to see our children having so much fun, and getting to interact with our families. We look forward to seeing all of you at our next playdate.
