What could be better than a lesson about bats to help us celebrate Halloween, and who better to help us learn about bats than our biologist friend, Miss Colleen, from the Florida Forest Service. We learned a lot about bats, some bats live in trees, some bats live in caves, there are twelve species of bats in Florida, never touch a bat, but most importantly, bats are good, because they eat lots and lots of bugs, not scary. Thank you so much Miss Colleen for taking the time to teach us about bats, and for helping us with our art project!
Parent involvement is critical to a child's early learning experience, and has always been a part of our curriculum. We also have parents who have expressed interest in meeting the families of their child's classmates in order to be able to set up playdates outside of school. So of course, we decided to combine the two ideas, and the first "Playcare Playdate" was born. It was a great morning, splashing at the Puddle In The Pines, and I think it is safe to say that the first "Playcare Playdate" was a huge success! We want to thank all our Playcare families and friends for coming out to splash in the water and have lunch with us. It was great to see our children having so much fun, and getting to interact with our families. We look forward to seeing all of you at our next playdate.
