Keeping your kids reading over the summer is very important! Studies show that when kids don’t read over the summer, they lose core reading skills and fall behind when they go back to school. We have many books available in our library for summer camp kids to check out and read. We set aside time for reading every day, give awards as encouragement, and the kids can take the books home to continue reading. Throughout the summer, kids also write their own stories for their friends to read, and can participate in creating our weekly student newsletter.
